Certain breeds have reputations for personalities (Siamese are one-person cats and talkative, Maine coons are assertive, outgoing and friendly, Ragdolls are relaxed and friendly) but the reality is mixed breed cats of all personalities can be found at your local shelter. I wanted an outgoing, friendly tabby that would do well with my dogs. I found him at my shelter. So you don't need to buy a purebred cat to get a certain personality type. I actually advocate adopting adult cats because their personalities are more developed than kittens and you get a better idea of what you are going to get. It worked for me.

i think they are pretty much the same. some cats like torti's, calico's are not so nice but personality pure bred or not they are the same. u paying for purebred. if u want a purebred id say get a persian, if u dont want a pure bred get any domesticated cat.

Most cats have basically the same personalities. Some breeds are more laid back and quiet. Its just in the selective breeding. Persians are laid back and quiet compared to a talkative active Siamese.

cats are just like people. They all have their own personality. Most pure breed cats have similar traits i.e. All siamese cats love to talk. And they love to be with their human. Domestic short hairs which are your typical pound kitty will all be different because no one knows the parents and they are probably a mix of like 8 different breeds.
Personally, I had a siamese and he was wild and didn’t shut up, but he was so pretty. Now I have a pound kitty and he is very talkative, but calm.
I think that if this is your first cat, you should just to a local shelter and pick one out.

my cats initial vaccination cost was £45
i spends around £40 a year on wormer and flea treatment
microshiping is a single fee of £15
my female cat was £45 and my male cat was £30
insurance is around £8 a month

also food is around £4 a week

with purebreds they have expected personalities same with dogs of course there are exceptions but if you figure out what personality suits you best and think about that while looking at cats you should be fine. and other than being able to trace their parents and being able to call them purebred there is not much of a difference( but purebreds are known to have more genetic problems) hope this helps

From personal experience, Having payed hundreds of dollars for pure bred cats, AND having taken in stray mixed breed cats , The only difference i can tell is the PRICE. Don’t be lured into thinking that if you pay that much more money for an animal, your going to get something better behaved, more disease resistant, or more loving. They are all the same. And all of them have the same problems, and take the same amount of care, the best thing about taking in a mixed breed animal, is all the money you will save Take that money and use it to adopt an animal from the shelter that deserves a second chance, or even two

hi
-inital injections are between £40-50 depending on area, then roughly £30 pounds yearly
-Frontline is £17.00 for 6 on the internet £27.00 from the vet. use one a month although i use between 6-8 weeks.
-Microchipping aboput a tenner.
- girls cost aboput £50 to be spayed boys about £30.
-insurance can cost from £5.00 – £8.00 a month. if u get insurance check it for the lifetime of a cat, some cheaper insurances are only yearly so any conditions are excluded after a year. petplan are the best they are a little more expencive.
-food and treats about £10.00 a week depending on what food u buy, that would be the most expencive pouchs, most supermarkets have good offers on cat food buy one get one free that sort of thing.
If u go to the rspca or cats protection the cats are usually fixed and chipped before u get them u just pay them a donation which helps the other needed cats they look after.
please make sure u can afford a cat before u make your descion, my cat has just cost me £500, he has just been diognosed with a heart condition, so hes going to cost me a lot more yet,
I dont want to put u off but they can be expencive, although saying that one of my other cats has never had anything wrong with her in 6 years and has cost me very little.
the pleasure i get from my cats i have 7 it tremendous i would not be without any of them.
good luck with your cat, its nice to know that u are responsable enough to find out first.
